I lift up my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

...

The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Grace One COVID-19 Response Team Update

2020.04.16.

Dear Grace One Family,

Thanks be to the Lord, for when we are facing the current coronavirus outbreak situation, “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7). We are so grateful to see our church brothers and sisters not only keeping strong faith and hope, but also reaching out with loving actions and prayers. Praise the Lord!

One of our Grace One church visions is, to magnify God through "grace-overflowing community". Many brothers and sisters have been asking, how we can help our community as a church, besides praying for our church families and our neighbors in community?

Grace One church leaders and local mission team have been reaching out and trying to understand the needs both inside and outside our church.

A number of initiatives have been started or currently ongoing, such as

  • Medical masks donation to Novant Health

  • Handmade 170 masks and donated to CMS by Sisters Fellowship

  • Encouraging videos and caring messages to Grace One children from Ruth, Max and Children Ministry team

  • Food drive for Loaves & Fishes by Love small group

  • Reaching out and caring to restaurant owners and workers and other individuals by Pastor, elders and other brothers and sisters

For the next phase of community outreach, the local mission team has discussed and would like to encourage Grace One brothers and sisters to involve in the following services within your capacity.

Food Drive to support Loaves & Fishes

Loaves & Fishes provides groceries for neighbors in need at pantries located throughout Mecklenburg County, NC. They anticipate the need for emergency food to spike with the economic impact on our community.  Your support is needed to ensure our neighbors in need are fed.

We encourage Grace One church members to donate non-perishable foods (see the list of Priority needs on the right).

Please bring the food bags to the following collecting locations before May 1st. When ready we will bring them to Loaves & Fishes together.

Support Healthcare Workers in Grace One Family

Right now, the healthcare workers are on the frontlines of battling the coronavirus disease that’s spreading rapidly throughout our city, state and nation. They are putting themselves in the path of this virus in this unprecedented crisis.

In addition to praying God’s protection and strength be with them, we encourage brothers and sisters to lift them up by expressing your appreciation and gratitude with encouragement cards and providing meals. For details please contact sister Fang Yu (fangyu201208@gmail.com) and Vivian Yang(yang6385@gmail.com).

Also, knowing some medical professionals are short of surgical/scrub caps, if anyone wants to help sawing caps, please contact sister Vivian Yang.

In addition to the above, we welcome brothers and sisters to provide feedbacks if you see any needs around you and your community that Grace One church can help and support. May Grace One Church be the blessing to our neighbors and communities.

May the grace and peace from God be with you all,

Grace One Covid-19 Response Team
